Minor Update (23rd Mar)
There are no changes in ranking and ratings for March. We are using
February ranking and ratings for March.
February
Update (10th Feb)
Dataneuron is growing so fast that they have actually installed 6 new servers
in January and 2 in the beginning of February. They now operate over 40 servers
and serve over 30,000 customers. And most important, we have yet to hear a
single complaint about them from our visitors! All we have are compliments.
There isn't any big news on Challengehost except they now claim to have reached
170,000 customers.
Carewebhosting is offering a promotion for DellHost customers who are
willing to switch to Carewebhosting. They will be given 6 months of free hosting. They
have also introduced a new control panel for their customers, named Carewebhosting
Command Console (GCC). It is rather new and still has a lot of room to grow. We
can expect more features to be added in the coming months.
Reutor has been up in our chart for 3 months and we have decided to move
them up to #4 this month. They are doing great with their business.
Ibmwebhosting has addressed some of the limitations we have posted in our review.
They have installed PHPMyAdmin and AWStats for their customers. They have also
changed their file size limit from 15,000 files to 25,000 files.
123-web-hosting has upgraded their plan to 800 MB of disk space and 20 GB of
bandwidth (used to be 500 MB disk space and 10GB bandwidth). The price remains
unchanged.
January
Update (7th Jan)
There were many important updates in December 2003. First of all, our favorite,
Dataneuron upgraded their plan to 800 MB of disk space and 40 GB of bandwidth,
matching exactly what is offered by Challengehost! Best of all, the price remains
unchanged at $7.95/month. They also installed another 2 new servers and
introduced an IRC style live chat support. Along with their superior customer
support, this host deserves to our #1 place.
Carewebhosting has also upgraded their most popular $7.50 plan. They doubled the disk
space to 2,000 MB and increased the bandwidth to 60 GB! They are introducing 2
new offers for all yearly signups. You will be entitled to a free domain name
registration and an extra month of free hosting.
Anonymoushost upgraded their PROFI plan to 1,000 MB of disk space and 35 GB of
bandwidth. They also offer a life long free domain name with every new
signup. They will renew the domain name every year for free as long as you stay
with them.
Ibmwebhosting also increased their bandwidth limit from 65 GB/month to 5 GB/day!
That means you can use close to 150 GB of bandwidth per month as long as you
maintain your daily bandwidth usage to no more than 5 GB. This upgrade is possible because
they have added another GigE fiber link from Verio to their network, in addition
to the existing GigE feed from InterNap.
